OBIT: John McBride, Avid Horseman on the Peninsula

A memorial for John McBride, who died earlier this month, is scheduled for noon Sept. 13 at the Empty Saddle Club in Rolling Hills Estates.

An avid horesman, McBride passed Aug. 12 at the age of 79. He was a former battalion fire chief for Redondo Beach.

The memorial will include a BBQ and Western music. The club is at 39 Empty Saddle Road. Dress is casual Western or Hawaiian.
