Palos Verdes Has Largest Apartments In LA Area, Study Says

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Rents are dropping in major cities amid the pandemic and one recent study shows Rancho Palos Verdes has some of the largest rental properties in the Los Angeles metro area as people look for more space near big cities.

Rancho Palos Verdes is listed as one place in the LA area where people can find a larger apartment, and ranked #9 in the U.S., according to Rent Cafe's study.

The study measured the top 30 most populous metropolitan areas in the country to find the largest spaces where people can live.

"Using data from Yardi Matrix, we analyzed the average size of apartments in large buildings of 50 or more units," according to Rent Cafe.

More people are now working remotely and need more space as homes now function as workspaces and makeshift homeschools, and the company is noting a shift in trends when it comes to apartment living.

The average rent for an apartment in Rancho Palos Verdes is $2,595, a 5% decrease compared to the previous year, when the average rent was $2,723, according to Rent Cafe.

The average apartment size is 1,133 square feet. compared to the average size for an apartment in the city of Los Angeles at 791 square feet.

Johns Creek in the Atlanta metro area has the largest apartments, with an average apartment size of 1,225 square feet.

The second-largest apartments are in Wellington in the Miami metro area and the third-most spacious are in Lake Wylie in the Charlotte metro area, which were the only other cities with average apartment sizes larger than 1,200 square feet.
