Palos Verdes Teen Wins Redondo Beach Triathlon

Duncan Reid, 19, was no stranger to the race. He finished second in the competition in 2014 as a 16-year-old.

PALOS VERDES, CA — A teenager from Palos Verdes Estates was the big winner at the 13th annual Redondo Beach Triathlon this weekend.

Duncan Reid, 19, who was a distance runner at Palos Verdes High School, was the first to cross the finish line at 41 minutes, the Easy Reader News reported.

Reid, who now competes for Oberlin College, is no stranger to the competition. He finished second place in 2014 as a 16-year-old, according to the Easy Reader News.

“It’s nice to see new faces win and the younger generation become so competitive,” Race Director Rick Crump told the Easy Reader. “It’s great for the sport.”
