After months of competing and perfecting their robots, two Rolling Robots teams were invited and participated in the Create U.S. OPEN Robotics Championship event held in Iowa. On March 22nd, Team 7700K emerged as the Tournament Champion in this event that participated by 97 invited teams from across the United States. They achieved this feat without losing a single match, winning all 10 qualification matches as well as all the elimination rounds.

Early this month, Rolling Robots sent 20 teams to participate in the VEX Robotics California State Championships. Among them, five elementary school teams and four middle school teams qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship, scheduled in Dallas Texas, starting on April 27, 2023!

At the California State Championship Tournaments, several Rolling Robots Teams impressed the judges and the audience with their exemplary performances in various categories. VRC Team 7700K won the Amaze Award and Tournament champion, VRC Team 7700C won the Tournament Finalist, VRC Team 7700P won the Create Award, VRC Team 7700N won the Judges Award, VEX IQ Team 6007Y won the Think Award, and VEX IQ Team 7700J won the Innovate Award.

This year's VEX robotics competition (VRC) presented teams with game elements, such as frisbee-like disks and spinning red and blue-colored rollers. The teams must create and program a robot that could shoot the discs into a goal and spin the rollers to their team color within a specific timeframe while competing against other teams. In the VEX IQ competition (VIQC), the teams had to dispense discs into the field or their own robots and shoot them across the field to score points.

At the beginning of the season, students from various schools in South Bay, West LA, Glendale, and Irvine who were interested in building, programming, and competing in robotics join nearby Rolling Robots locations to learn. They formed teams and designed their robots based on their understanding of the game challenge and their knowledge in robot building. Throughout the season, they refined their robots based on their competition results, worked collaboratively with their teammates and persevered through technical and interpersonal challenges. The entire experience allowed them to learn about the engineering process of building something from scratch and create unforgettable memories that enriched their lives.
