Suspected Thief Arrested Peering Into Cars In Palos Verdes Estates

A resident in the Valmonte area said they saw the suspect looking into cars in the neighborhood.

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — A man was arrested on suspicion of robbery after residents reported him peering into car windows in their neighborhood, according to the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.

In the early morning on Wednesday, Jan. 24 a local resident called police after they saw a "suspicious subject" in the Valmonte area who was walking around and looking into cars.

Officers responded to the neighborhood and made contact with a man they believed to be the suspect. According to police, the man was found to be in possession of stolen property.

"We were able to locate the owners of the property and return it," PVEPD said in a statement.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of stolen property and was taken to PVEPD jail.
