PALOS VERDES, CA — On Memorial Day, the bustle of daily business will slow down a bit in California as swaths of government offices, banks and businesses close to observe the holiday.

On federal holidays, most banks close, and transactions come to a halt. Across the state, Wells Fargo, Chase, Capital One, Bank of America, U.S. Bank and California Bank & Trust will close.

In Palos Verdes, local banks will close. All government offices and schools will also close, courts will not be in session, and the Department of Motor Vehicles will shut down.

In Palos Verdes and across the state, the U.S. Postal Service will not deliver on Memorial Day. UPS will not deliver or pick up on Monday. FedEx services will also likely be closed.

Restaurants and grocery stores will likely remain open to accommodate Californians who have the day off.
