Kids Dental Care Acquired By Western Dental

With acquisition, pediatric provider Kids Dental Kare, with offices in Pasadena, Hollywood and SF Valley, will offer orthodontic services.

ORANGE, CA – Western Dental, one of the nation's largest dental providers, announced Thursday its purchase of Kids Dental Kare, a pediatric dental service provider that operates 14 offices in Huntington Park, Hollywood, East Los Angeles, Panorama City, Lynwood, El Monte, Paramount, Norwalk, Crenshaw, Baldwin Park, Burbank, Pasadena, Oxnard and Fresno.

The addition of Kids Dental Kare brings Western Dental's total number of offices in California to 190, including 24 dedicated pediatric dentistry and orthodontic offices.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kids Dental Kare is a major participant in the Denti-Cal program, part of the Medi-Cal public insurance program that provides health care benefits for more than 13 million low-income individuals and families in California, and will launch orthodontics services in most of its offices with the support of Western Dental.

Western Dental, with its affiliate, Brident Dental & Orthodontics, operates 245 offices throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. In addition to general dentistry, it offers orthodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, periodontics and endodontics.

In California, Western Dental is the leading provider of services to the Denti-Cal program. Its dentists provided care to more than a half-million Denti-Cal beneficiaries in 2016.
