Rose Bowl Arrests Way Up

Increased tailgating blamed for spike in arrests at Monday's Rose Bowl game.

PASADENA, CA -- Ten people were arrested at Monday's Rose Bowl Game, all for suspicion of public intoxication, police said after USC defeated Penn State, 52-49.

The number of arrests was higher than last year's 2016 Rose Bowl Game, when there were just six arrests, Pasadena Police Department Lt. Art Chute told City News Service.

He attributed the increase to a larger crowd -- 95,128 to 94,268 -- and the presence of a local team, which resulted in more tailgating.
