Assistance League of Diablo Valley Celebrates National Thrift Shop Day 8/17/2017

The dedicated member volunteers at Assistance League® Way Side Inn, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way in Lafayette, are reaching beyond the needs of the local community to celebrate National Thrift Shop Day, scheduled for Thursday, August 17. What a delightful way to honor the “3 Rs,” reduce, reuse and recycle, than to visit a thrift shop on this designated day.

Typically acknowledged as a fundraising arm in the philanthropic community, the Way Side Inn Thrift Shop welcomes such gently used donations as clothing, accessories, hard goods and linens and sells them at bargain basement prices. The revenue earned from this enterprise ultimately finances programs to improve the lives of those in our community who are vulnerable.

On August 17, instead of throwing an item away, why not enjoy the satisfaction of donating items that no longer serve your needs? You will better the environment, provide much appreciated items that enable the Assistance League to improve everyday life for the underserved in our community and purchase items at a fraction of their value.

Now comes the fun part; when you celebrate National Thrift Shop Day at Assistance League Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, a special financial surprise, sweetened by free lollipops, will await you. This financial surprise is a Point of Purchase, aka a POP, where particular items in the shop will go on sale at insanely low prices. Usually, a POP is divulged on the day it occurs; in this case, August 17.
