Established in 1978, Assistance League® Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, located at 3521 Golden Gate Way in Lafayette, is the primary fundraiser for Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s ten philanthropic programs. Since 2006, Assistance League of Diablo Valley has cultivated a Corporate Partnerships component, where employee volunteers from local businesses and corporations become hands-on involved with and make financial contributions to several of our philanthropic programs.

On Monday, February 27th, a team led by Broadway Plaza Senior Marketing Manager Tracy Dietlein, returned to share their creative expertise in window art, that eye-catching element crucial in attracting shoppers. Appropriately, they attired a mannequin that Broadway Plaza had previously donated to the thrift shop for an upcoming event.

In earlier years, the Broadway Plaza Corporate Partners team coordinated denim collection events at Broadway Plaza, which they not only donated to the Assistance League Way Side Inn Thrift Shop, but bundled, delivered, and displayed the garments in order to maximize sales. As important, the Broadway Plaza team also participated in the nationally acclaimed Operation School Bell® clothing events. On more than one occasion, they reported to the Chapter House Annex in Walnut Creek, where they filled bags with clothing and a shoe voucher card. Improved school attendance, citizenship and academics resulted.

The longstanding corporate partnership that Assistance League of Diablo Valley has enjoyed with Broadway Plaza has gone beyond “social responsibility.” It amplifies the pride of two civic-minded organizations with similar values, visions, and missions as they continue to make a difference together.
