Evacuation Orders Lifted In Sunol, Roads Remain Closed

Residents around Sunol Regional Wilderness were allowed to return home Monday night. The Creek Fire continues to burn 744 acres.

SUNOL, CA — Evacuation orders have been lifted for residents of ALC-E127, the area around Calaveras Road and Sunol Regional Wilderness.

On Monday at 5 p.m., the Alameda County Sheriff sent a message that the Evacuation Order was downgraded to an Evacuation Warning, though the area is accessible only to residents and response agencies. The homes were re-energized at 5:30 p.m.

As of Tuesday at 7:43 a.m., the Creek Fire is now 744 acres and 55% contained, according to Cal Fire.
