Pooch Parade Returns to 1st Wednesday Street Party in Downtown Pleasanton

Enjoy live music, children's activities, food trucks, a beer and wine garden and nearly 200 vendors during the final party of the summer.

From Pleasanton Downtown Association: Precious pups take over Downtown Pleasanton during the annual Pooch Parade when it returns to the 1st Wednesday Street Party on August 2 from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy live music, children’s activities, food trucks, a beer and wine garden and nearly 200 vendors during the final 1st WednesdayStreet Party of the summer.

· POOCH PARADE – The 20th Annual Pooch Parade will take place at 7pm on Main Street. Line up to watch dogs strut their stuff, many of them in costume, during this playful parade. Registration and judging are from 5:30 - 7:00pm with trick dogs performing at 6:30 pm at Lions Wayside Park. Enter your pooch in seven categories for great prizes! • MUSIC, MUSIC & MUSIC – Rock out with Public Eye in the Entertainment Garden from 6-9pm. In addition to the featured band in the Entertainment Garden, enjoy live music from talented local bands and artists while strolling throughout Main Street.

• BEER & WINE GARDEN – Located within the Entertainment Garden in the Inklings Parking lot at 530 Main Street adults 21 years of age and older will enjoy beer and wine while rocking with Public Eye. In August Wente and Cellar Door will be serving up their best varietals by the glass while Handles on Mainpours craft beer for the beer lovers.

· STUFF THE BUS – You are invited to bring school supply donations for a back to school “stuff the bus” drive. The Pleasanton Unified School District will be parking a school bus in the 700 block of Main Street to collect donations of school supplies such as backpacks, colored pencils, crayons, pens (blue, black or red), spiral notebooks, glue sticks, binders, binder paper, and pencils (#2 or mechanical). The school supply drive is being hosted by The Hanger, a donation center located on PUSD’s Village High School campus that supports Pleasanton families in need.

• KID ZONE – There is something for everyone to enjoy during 1st Wednesdays! Bring the kids out to enjoy theme park style Teacup rides and more by Fun and Game Rentals. Get creative with the Alameda County Fair and explore their new innovative arts and crafts experience. All happening in the Kids Zone located on St. Mary Street and Main!

• FOOD, FOOD, FOOD! – Get ready to indulge in some of the best street eats of the Bay Area presented by Food Truck Mafia. In August Food Truck Mafia will feature 333, Southern Comfort Kitchen, Big City Country Boy and Sam's Chowder Mobile. Enjoy your food truck finds while sitting and listening to live music in the Entertainment Garden in the Inklings lot. Indulge in sweet treats from downtown vendors Primrose Bakery, Noland’s Cake Shop and Rita’s Italian Ice. Or relax and take in the scene at one of our beautiful restaurant patios and enjoy a delicious meal.
