RSM Walmart Offers Free Health, Cholesterol Screenings Saturday

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Walmart pharmacies in Orange County, including in Rancho Santa Margarita, are hosting a "Wellness Day" Saturday, July 23, with free health screenings and COVID-19 vaccines, plus low-cost immunizations.

The event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with some stores featuring vision screenings, as well.

Among services offered:

• Free health screenings, including glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure and body mass index;
• Low-cost immunizations for pneumonia, tetanus, HPV, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox/shingles), whooping cough (TDAP), Hep A and B and more;
• No cost COVID-19 vaccines;
• Wellness resources, plus opportunity to talk with pharmacists.

Many of the offered vaccines are required for California schools. K-12 public schools require immunizations for whooping cough (Tdap), polio, rubella, Hep A and B, chicken pox and shingles (varicella), tetanus, measles and mumps, according to the California Department of Public Health. The local stores join more than 4,600 Walmart pharmacies nationwide hosting Wellness Day — a company tradition since 2014.
