Virtual Social Hour with BCHD Care Manager 10 – 11 a.m.    

Avenue F & Esplanade

South Bay Parkland Conservancy is teaming up with US Fish and Wildlife Services, LA County Department of Beaches and Harbor, LA Conservation Corps and the City of Redondo Beach to restore habitat for the endangered El Segundo blue butterfly and other native wildlife along the bluffs of Redondo Beach.
This project will maintain existing habitat restoration that has been occurring in recent years between Miramar Park and Avenue I (3.1 acres), help maintain restoration performed by Los Angeles Conservation Corps between Avenues I and G (1.3 acres) and conduct new restoration between Avenues G and E (0.8 acres).
Volunteers will be asked to assist with:
<ul><li dir="ltr">weeding out invasive plants</li><li dir="ltr">installing new native plants (during the rainy season)</li><li dir="ltr">providing supplemental water to newly installed plants, as needed</li></ul>
What to bring:
<ul><li dir="ltr">Come prepared with clothes that can get dirty and wet!</li><li dir="ltr">Closed toed shoes/boots</li><li dir="ltr">Sunscreen</li><li dir="ltr">Reusable water bottles (drinking fountains located at Avenues G and I restrooms) &amp; snacks</li><li dir="ltr">Gloves and tools provided, although volunteers are welcome to bring their own</li></ul>

Paula Vukmanic, award-winning South Bay oil and pastel painter, has debuted her solo exhibition at Destination: Art, with a selection of more than 30 works.&nbsp;&nbsp;The public is invited to her Reception on Saturday, August 17, from 3 pm to 5 pm.&nbsp;&nbsp;Vukmanic’s exhibition includes works created in the past two and a half years, after retiring as rector of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes Estates. There are also several paintings in the exhibit that have been reworked from many years ago&nbsp; Gallery hours:&nbsp;Thursdays-Saturdays 11 am to 4 pm; Sundays 1 to 5 pm.&nbsp; www.destination-art.net
