Set on the sunny beaches of Malibu in the early 1960s, “Psycho Beach Party” is a celebration of zany, irreverent campiness at its finest. Described as a “Gidget Goes Psycho” presentation, this comedy tells the story of a would-be surfer girl harboring a deep, dark secret.

This play is a must-see for anyone interested in surfing, shaving, or split-personalities—or never thought they were. According to the play’s director, Matthew Singletary, this performance likens itself to the sandy classic, “Beach Blanket Bingo,” but with a very mature storyline.

“Absurd times demand absurd comedy and Psycho Beach Party is serving that up in spades,” expresses Singletary. “We’re offering up a COVID-conscious environment where you can forget about your troubles and celebrate the power of theater through the story of a teenage girl coming to terms with her love of surfing, her first crush, and the psychotic demands of her multiple personalities. We hope to see you there!”

El Camino College requires that all theater patrons complete a health screening questionnaire and temperature check prior to entering the performance venue. A link to the health screening questionnaire will be provided to all ticket buyers at the time of purchase.

Masks will be required at all times for audience members, regardless of vaccination status.

Socially-distanced seating will be assigned by the Ticket Office to ensure COVID-19 protocol compliance. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we want to provide a healthy, safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
