REDONDO BEACH, CA —Here's an udderly good deal: For Cow Appreciation Day today, Chick-fil-A will give free food to customers dressed up like bovines.

What moooore cud anyone ask for, right? Chick-fil-A has long had a cow as something of a mascot promoting the consumption of more chicken rather than burgers, given their specialty sandwiches favoring poultry over beef.

On Tuesday, July 9, company officials further that mission with their trademarked "Cow Appreciation Day" from the time its franchises open until 7 p.m. Here's how the program works:

  • Make or buy a cow costume (or any sort of cow apparel, really).
  • Wear your cow costume to your favorite Chick-fil-A between the restaurant's opening hour and 7 p.m.
  • Receive a free entrée! Free entrées for Cow Appreciation Day cannot be redeemed with the Chick-fil-A app, only in-store.

People who love Chick-fil-A offerings will do just about anything to get their hands on some of their food. Two months ago in Leander, about 150 residents camped out for a chance to win free food for a year as part of the promotional launch of the newly opened franchise there.

So hoof it on down to your neighborhood Chick-fil-A on Tuesday!
