REDONDO BEACH, CA — The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority will close its C Line (Green) between the Hawthorne/Lennox and Redondo Beach Stations at 7 p.m. Friday through midnight Monday to continue construction on the future Crenshaw/Los Angeles International Airport Line.

The Crenshaw Station will remain open for eastbound boarding and westbound arrivals on the C Line.

Metro will provide free bus shuttle service to the rail stations that will be out of service, which will be the Hawthorne/Lennox, Aviation/LAX, Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach stations.

Shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and every 20 minutes at other times. Metro said it recommends passengers plan in advance their commute and allow for extra time.

The LAX G Shuttle, which provides free service between airport terminals and the Aviation/LAX Station, will continue to run from that station on its regular schedule between 5 a.m. and midnight during the weekend closure.

The Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project is an 8.5-mile rail line with eight planned stations that will serve the Crenshaw, Inglewood, Westchester and LAX communities.

An additional station is currently under construction at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, where Crenshaw/LAX Line and C Line riders will be able to transfer to the LAX Automated People Mover to access airport terminals.
