REDONDO BEACH, CA — The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Thursday announced it will temporarily halt C Line (Green) service between the Crenshaw and Redondo Beach stations from Friday to Saturday for construction to connect the future Crenshaw/LAX Line.

Construction is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Friday and conclude at 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Metro will provide a free bus shuttle service to rail stations that will be out of services at Hawthorne/Lennox, Aviation/LAX, Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach stations.

Shuttles will run every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and every 20 minutes at other times. Metro recommends passengers plan their commute times. Due to physical distancing required during the COVID-19 pandemic, bus capacity is limited and riders should enter buses at the rear doors, and facial coverings must be worn while onboard.

Regular C Line rail service will continue between Norwalk and Crenshaw stations, where passengers will transfer to bus shuttles to continue their trip.

The Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project is an 8.5-mile light-rail line with eight new stations that will serve the Crenshaw, Inglewood, Westchester and LAX communities.

An additional station is currently under construction at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, where Crenshaw/LAX Line and C Line riders will be able to transfer to the LAX Automated People Mover to access airport terminals.

For those planning a Los Angeles International Airport trip, the LAX Shuttle G will continue to run its regular service from its usual stop at Aviation/LAX Station. Other options to LAX include Metro Lines 102, 111, 117 and 232.
