REDONDO BEACH, CA — The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued a rain advisory due to possible increases of bacteria in ocean waters at all Los Angeles beaches, including in Redondo Beach, due to recent rainfall.

The warning was issued until Saturday, March 9 at 3 p.m. after the county experienced two days of heavy rainfall. The advisory will be extended as rain persists at county beaches.

“Bacteria levels can increase significantly during and after rainstorms, as contaminants within the runoff enters the ocean,” according to the LA County Department of Public Health. “Elevated
bacteria levels in ocean water may cause illness, especially in children and the elderly.”
