South Bay Costco Recalls Kool-Aid Over 'Pieces Of Metal Or Glass'

Costco in Torrance recalled Kool-Aid Tropical Punch mix, warning consumers about "very small pieces of metal or glass."

TORRANCE, CA — Don't drink the Kool-Aid. Kraft Heinz and the FDA announced a recall for Kool-Aid Tropical Punch mix sold at Costco in Torrance.

Kool-Aid Tropical Punch Mix 82.5 oz units with “Best When Used By” dates of 2023-08-31 and 2023-09-01 were recalled due to the potential presence of foreign material, specifically very small pieces of metal or glass, according to the Kraft Heinz Company.

The “Best When Used By” date is located on the bottom of the container. Consumers who have any product with the “Best When Used By” date of 2023-08-31 or 2023-09-01, do not use and return it to your local Costco for a full refund.

Stater Bros. Markets also issued a recall for the product at stores.

“The company discovered the issue during an internal review at the manufacturing facility,” according to a news release.

There have been no consumer complaints and no reports of illness or injury related to the recalled product.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused,” the Kraft Heinz Company said.
