South Bay Shooting Victim Hospitalized With Critical Injuries

Within the first two hours of 2024, a man was shot and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries according to police.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was shot within the first two hours of 2024 in the South Bay, according to local law enforcement.

Manhattan Beach police responded to a report of a shooting at about 1:23 a.m. in the 1400 Block of 11th Street. When officers arrived, they found a man on the street who had a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to Harbor General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"This is not believed to be a random attack. although many of the circumstances remain unknown," the Manhattan Beach Police Department said in a statement.

No additional information about the victim's identity or the motive for the shooting was unknown. The investigation is ongoing, MBPD said.
