REDONDO BEACH, CA — Would you pay a whopping $75 for a cup of coffee? The Elida Geisha 803 coffee, which costs $1,200 a pound after roasting, sold out in Southern California.

Klatch Coffee Roasters procured 10 pounds of the exclusive bean, and split it among its California stores, KTLA reported. There were only 100 pounds available worldwide — a majority of the beans went to Japan, China and Taiwan, Fox Business reported.

The unroasted coffee, which is imported from Panama, set a world record price of $803 per pound at the Best of Panama coffee competition, according to Fox Business.

The coffee has “floral, tea like and stone fruit flavors” with jasmine, bergamot, sugar cane, and peach or apricot “flavor notes,” Klatch Coffee Roasters said.

"This coffee is not over roasted like what you get at other places. It's roasted how coffee used to be roasted back in the day," Bo Thiara, co-owner of Klatch's new Northern California location, told ABC7.
