World's Top Female Golfers Coming To South Bay For LA Open

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — Next week Palos Verdes Estates will host 144 of the world's best female golfers as part of the 2023 DIO Implant LA Open, including Lydia Ko, the New Zealand golfer who is ranked number one worldwide.

The tournament will take place from March 27 to April 2 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club, with the first three days being closed to the public for practice rounds and a Pro-Am Tournament according to the PVE Police Department. The live, televised golf tournament will start on Thursday, March 30 with rounds two through four following each day.

"The tournament is expected to feature a strong international field, with eight of the top-10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings currently slated to play in the event," tournament officials said.

Alongside Ko, seven more of the world's top 10 female golfers will compete over the weekend including Nelly Korda, Minjee Lee, Jin Young Ko, Brooke Henderson, In Gee Chun, Hyo-Joo Kim and Nasa Hataoka. Los Angeles-area residents Andrea Lee, Lilia Vu, Alison Lee, Lizette Salas, and Angel Yin will also play in the championship.

According to PVEPD, there will be no-parking zones on Via Campesino and Paseo del Campo in order to minimize traffic impacts. There will also be permit parking only zones on several streets in the area, residents will receive two parking permits during the week of March 20 free of charge.

Tickets for the LA Open are still available on the tournament's website and range from $25 for a one-day general admission ticket to $400 for the Pro-Shop Patio pass for the duration of the tournament.

General admission tickets for the duration of the tournament cost $45 and include entrance to all four days of the tournament Pro Shop Patio tickets go for $125 per day and include access to the revamped PVGC Pro-Shop located behind the 18th hole with access to unlimited drinks and a $20 food voucher.
