Falling Rocks Shut Down Campus Road At SDSU

Police said the road was closed out of caution for public safety.

SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego State University closed a road on campus Monday due to falling rocks caused by heavy rain and flooding.

Canyon Crest Drive was closed between Parking Lot 15 and Aztec Circle, according to the Saj Diego State University Police Department. Police said the road was closed out of caution for public safety.

No injuries were reported.

People were asked to avoid the road as well as the Alvarado Court cul-de-sac, just east of College Avenue and south of Interstate 8, which was also closed due to flooding.

The university remained open.

Update: Both Alvarado Court and Canyon Crest Drive were reopened shortly before 4:30 p.m., according to the police department.
