Escondido High School Teacher Arrested For Sexual Contact With Student: Police

Detectives believe that there is at least one additional victim in the case, police said.

ESCONDIDO, CA — A San Diego area high school teacher was arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a minor student, police said Monday.

Kyiri Tisdale, a 31-year-old Escondido High School teacher, was arrested Friday after detectives with the Escondido Police Family Protection Unit conducted an investigation stemming from a July report of sexual misconduct, according to the Escondido Police Department. Detectives also issued a search warrant at Tisdale's Escondido home to search for additional evidence.

"As the investigation has progressed, the Escondido Police Department and Escondido Union High School District have been in constant communication to ensure all appropriate measures have been taken to ensure student and staff safety," Lt. Ryan Hicks said in a news release.

Tisdale was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, Hicks said.

Detectives believe that there is at least one additional victim in the case, Hicks said. Neither the initial victim nor the second suspected victim are currently students at the high school.
