Pedestrian Fatally Shot On I-805 In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A pedestrian was fatally shot on Interstate 805 in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said Monday.

Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian down on northbound I-805, on the University Avenue off-ramp, around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers found a man who sustained a major head injury, later determined to be a gunshot wound.

The 30-year-old San Diego man was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died from his injuries, the CHP said.
