Garage Fire Foiled In San Juan Capistrano Tuesday Morning

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — A garage fire was knocked out in San Juan Capistrano Tuesday morning after a good samaritan saw the fire and quickly reported it to residents, an Orange County Fire Authority spokesperson said.

The unnamed good samaritan was riding his bike in the 31000 block of Calle San Diego at 12:21 a.m. when he reported seeing a garage on fire in an apartment complex, authorities said. He yelled to residents in the units above to alert them to the fire.

Authorities responded quickly and knocked down the fire in roughly 11 minutes. No injuries were reported, authorities said.

The cause of the fire was related to charging electric bike batteries, according to the OCFA.
