San Leandro Weather Forecast: Strong Storm With High Wind Warning

The rain is returning, along with fierce winds.

BAY AREA, CA - Rain is returning to the Bay Area along with fierce wind, according to the National Weather Service. How bad? Close the backyard umbrella and secure the lawn furniture!

Rain is expected to be widespread across the region by late this evening into Thursday morning, according to meteorologist Rick Canepa.

Canepa said the overall rainfall would be moderate with most of the heavy rain in the North Bay and Santa Cruz mountains as well as further down south in the Monterey area.

For the East Bay, the big news is the wind. A wind advisory will take effect at 10 p.m. tonight, lasting until 3 a.m. Friday. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph in lower elevations and 50 mph in the hills.
