SAN LEANDRO, CA — Many gardeners are content to successfully harvest enough tomatoes for salads, sandwiches and perhaps a tasty marinara.

Bonnie Polson is a next-level gardener. She brought this bowl of garden delights to her dentist's customer appreciation evening recently. The tomatoes include Rutgers, Beefstake, Early Girl and Lemon Boy, along with four varieties of cherry tomatoes — Sun Sugar, Sweet 100, Tidy Treats, and Husky Cherry Red.

Filling out the basket, which looks to us like a work of art, are kale, basil, celery, green onion, parsley, lavender, thyme and marigolds.

Bonnie also shared a photo of a beautiful yellow rose which she photographed on a walk around San Leandro.
