Traditional Chinese Floral Arts Exhibit for Experts & Enthusiasts

Delegation from Chinese Floral Arts Foundation Taipei led by Floral Master Li Shu Lee set to showcase the floral artistry at the Pico House

The Chinese American Museum is set to host an Chinese Floral Arts Symposium and Exhibition on Saturday, July 20 & Sunday, July 21, 2024, at El Pueblo’s Pico House, located at 424 N. Main Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Vivian Chan, the Curator and Executive VP of the Chinese Floral Arts Foundation-USA Charter says, "The exhibition will showcase the rich history of floral arts that spans over a thousand years, dating back to the Song Dynasty. A delegation of floral masters from both the Chinese Floral Arts Foundation of Taipei, led by floral master Li Shu Lee and the Chinese Floral Arts Foundation-USA Charter, will jointly present an array of exquisite flower arrangements, each inspired by the seasons and the deep cultural heritage of China."

Rosa Zee, Floral Master and President of the Chinese Floral Arts Foundation-USA Charter, expressed her excitement: "We are passionate about a long lost art; We are thrilled to share these beautiful traditions with the public."

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities such as flower arranging, calligraphy, and tea ceremony appreciation. Additionally, attendees can attend a lecture and demonstration on the life of an ancient Song Dynasty scholar, providing an immersive experience titled "Hands On Culture: Be A Scholar For A Day" this educational program has been offering to the San Marino Unified School District's fourth grader for the past decade as part of the diversity learning experience.

Furthermore, the American Cancer Society will hold their "Love Notes Around The World" activities at the exhibition, inviting attendees to write heartfelt messages of support and compassion for cancer patients in need, spreading hope and fostering a sense of community and support.
