MARIN COUNTY, CA — Four Marin County elementary schools have temporarily reinstated indoor mask mandates, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

Small clusters of cases reported at the schools prompted the measure, according to the report. The schools have not been identified.

The move comes despite a general decline in COVID-19 cases in Marin.

Marin County Health Officer Dr. Matt Willis said officials are monitoring two additional schools where cases have been detected, the report said.

“We should expect some normal waxing and waning of transmission within the general downward trend,” Willis told the news outlet.

“I think that’s what we’re seeing — since our wastewater levels continue to decline.”
