Billionaire's Child Missing From Marin County: Police

Investigators are searching for the Slack co-founder's 16-year-old child.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Authorities in Marin County and San Francisco are searching for a missing teen who was last seen Sunday night in Bolinas. According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, Mint Butterfield, 16, was discovered to be missing the next night and is believed to have run away to San Francisco.

Officials shared a picture of the missing teen and described them as having brown/reddish curly hair and pierced eyebrows, approximately 5 feet tall and weighing 100 pounds. The teen was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants and black boots, and may be carrying a gray suitcase.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Mint is the child of the co-founder and former CEO of the messaging app Slack, Stewart Butterfield. The teen's mother has a home in San Francisco and reported the disappearance. The sheriff's office is working with police in San Francisco, where Supervisor Matt Dorsey said the teen was believed to be in the area of the Tenderloin.

Anyone with information that could help locate Butterfield is asked to contact the Marin County Sheriff's Office
