ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Newly-released documents show Alameda County's second-ranking prosecutor faced several allegations of workplace misconduct at his previous post in Marin County, the Marin Independent Journal first reported Monday.

According to the East Bay Times, eight deputy district attorneys at his former office said Otis Bruce Jr. used sexist language, intimidated subordinates, and created a toxic workplace environment. Bruce moved from the Marin DA's office to take the same post at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office as a key hire by Pamela Price.

The Marin Independent Journal received copies of the complaints and reported that an outside investigation found Bruce had manipulated and intimidated subordinates, and made sexist and disparaging remarks. He was reportedly placed on leave in September and left for Alameda County early this year before filing a racial discrimination claim against Marin County, the East Bay Times reported.
