MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County agencies recently visited the homes of dozens of DUI offenders with multiple convictions to ensure they remained in compliance with the terms of their probation.

According to the county, the Marin County Probation Department led the effort Thursday with support from the Novato Police Department, the sheriff's office, the district attorney's office and the California State Parks Department. The multi-agency operation visited 52 homes, completed 35 searches and 19 breathalyzer and drug tests, and checked 10 ignition interlock devices.

Officials said the targeted checks found nine violations resulting in sanctions, arrests, detox referrals and emergency aid for severe alcohol poisoning. Six probationers tested positive for alcohol, and two had drug violations.
