Marin School District Offers Free Meals To All Students

All students will be eligible for the newly enacted Universal Meals Program, the NUSD said.

NOVATO, CA — A Novato school district is doing what it can to make sure no student goes hungry.

The Novato Unified School District announced that all students will receive free meals every school day under the newly enacted Universal Meals Program, National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and the Afterschool Snack Program.

NUSD households through June of next year are also eligible for additional benefits if their household income meets federal guidelines, which can be found here.

Children classified as foster, homeless, migrant, or runaway, and those enrolled in Head Start programs are eligible for free meals, too.

Households that want to apply for additional meal benefits must fill out one application for all children in the household.

Households are encouraged to use the online application.

They can also submit it to the NUSD's Nutrition Office (819 Olive Avenue).
