Marin Toy Drive Seeks Gifts For December Celebrations

Residents can bring unwrapped gifts to three locations through Dec. 18 to help stock the sheriff's annual Christmas toy giveaways.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The Marin County Sheriff's Office is preparing to host holiday giveaways at two substations next month, and neighbors can help spread joy by donating toys, books and other gifts until Dec. 18.

"The Marin County Sheriff's Office is committed to being in partnership with our communities during this season of giving and as such, we are asking Marin County businesses and residents to donate an unwrapped toy to the Marin County Sheriff's Office for the celebration," the sheriff's office wrote Monday. "We are asking for toys that are inclusive and boost self-esteem. Some toy suggestions are books, dolls of all nationalities, sports equipment, board games or gift certificates for our older children."

Residents can drop off unwrapped gifts at three locations through Dec. 18:

• Sheriff’s Main Office, 1600 Los Gamos Dr #200, San Rafael
• Southern Marin Substation, 850 Drake Avenue, Marin City
• Point Reyes Substation, 101 4th St, Point Reyes

Families in Southern Marin can take part in the festivities at the Marin City substation on Dec. 19, where children up to 12 can take a picture with Santa and receive a gift. The Point Reyes substation will host West Marin families on Dec. 21.
