Marin County Beach Among Nation's Best, Survey Finds

Marin County is home to one of the nation's best hidden beaches, according to a new national survey.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A Marin County beach recently landed near the top of a new ranking of the best hidden beaches in the United States. The Family Destinations Guide surveyed 3,000 families nationwide to learn about their favorite secret beaches in the summer.

On the Point Reyes National Seashore, Wildcat Beach made the top 10, placing eighth overall. Hawaii beaches claimed three of the top five spots, and Florida appeared four times in the top 10. California held its own, too, claiming 8 spots in the top 50.

Also appearing in the top 10, ranking seventh, was Orange County's Salt Creek Beach, and the Bay Area secured one more spot in the top 25 with Gray Whale Cove.

  • #35: Haskell's Beach (Santa Barbara County)
