McNair, Murphy Lead San Rafael To Third Straight Win

Kelsey McNair had a career-high four hits and Megan Murphy had three hits and two RBI in a 7-1 nonleague win against Montgomery on Friday.

The victory followed a 1-0 Marin County Athletic League win against Redwood two days earlier in which Freshman Thomara Drummer pitched a two-hit shutout. Drummer struck seven struck out seven, walked none and drove in the game's only run.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Sophomore Kelsey McNair had a career-high four hits, junior Megan Murphy had three hits and two RBI, and the duo combined to pitch a five-hitter as San Rafael defeated Montgomery of Santa Rosa 7-1 in a nonleague softball game Friday.

Freshman Thomara Drummer had two hits and two RBI and freshman Sophia Everett had two hits and two runs scored for the Bulldogs in their third straight win.

Murphy (4-0), who started and was credited with the win, struck out seven and walked three in 3 2/3 innings of four-hit ball in which she gave up one run.

McNair pitched 3 1/3 shutout innings of one-hit ball in which she struck out three and walked three.

The victory followed a 1-0 Marin County Athletic League win against Redwood two days earlier in which Drummer had seven strikeouts and walked none in a two-hit shutout.
