'Meals On Wheels' Volunteers Needed In Marin County

Marin County is looking for more volunteers to help deliver healthy meals to older adults in need across the region.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin Health & Human Services is looking to grow its roster of volunteers who play an essential role in connecting vulnerable seniors and homebound older adults with fresh meals at their doorstep.

The Marin County Area Agency on Aging will host two informational sessions next week for neighbors to learn how to get involved and help deliver some Meals on Wheels. The online sessions will outline the program's scope, wide-reaching community impact, and personal rewards of helping people in need stay healthy.

"Your dedication and support can make a significant difference in the lives of older adults in Mari County," said Jenay Cottrell, a program manager with Marin Social Services. "We look forward to welcoming you as part of our team."

The program has opportunities for volunteers to assist in two areas. Client assessment volunteers commit to at least four hours a week over one year to help ensure that older adults continue to receive the support they need. Office aide volunteers help put together welcome packets and provide other assistance for program operations.
