Megan Murphy Homers, Plates 3 As San Rafael Tops El Cerrito, 12-9

Murphy was among four San Rafael players who went deep as the Bulldogs won for the seventh time in eight games.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — Megan Murphy homered and had three RBI, freshman Thomara Drummer had two doubles and drove in two runs, and San Rafael High beat El Cerrito 12-9 in a nonleague game Friday.

Murphy was among four San Rafael players who went deep as the Bulldogs (10-4, 4-3 Marin County Athletic League) won for the seventh time in eight games.

Freshman Sophia Everett and sophomores Kelsey McNair and Cassidy Kaplan were the others.

Everett also had a triple and two RBI.

Murphy, was credited with the win, combined with McNair and Drummer on 13 strikeouts. Drummer struck out five and walked none in 1 2/3 innings of one-hit ball.
