MARIN COUNTY, CA — Caltrans crews will spend a few days next week installing a new speed radar sign and flashing crosswalk beacon in Stinson Beach as part of an effort to improve safety for drivers and pedestrians.

Crews are scheduled to work Wednesday through Friday to install the new safety features on State Route 1, near the Stinson Beach Montessori School. The project requires crews to drill holes for the new poles for two new signs that display vehicle speeds, which will be located at the southwest corner of Calle Del Sierra and the northwest corner of Arenal Avenue.

A flashing beacon will be installed outside of the school to improve visibility for crosswalk users. According to Caltrans, the project will not require one-way traffic controls, but drivers should slow down and use caution near the work zone.
