San Rafael Renters, Landlords Queried for Housing Survey

Share experiences online before June 1 to help solve longstanding issues

The following is a Marin County Press Release

There are just a few more weeks for Marin County residents to share feedback on the challenges of the rental housing market. The Marin County Community Development Agency (CDA) has solicited responses to an online survey since late March.

“We’ve received a tremendous response to the rental housing survey from both renters and property owners alike,” said CDA Planner Alisa Stevenson. “There are just a few weeks left before the survey closes on June 1, and we want to ensure that we hear from everyone in the community who has something to contribute to this discussion.”

Those logging in to the County’s Open Marin online forum will get a chance to share their responses English, Spanish and Vietnamese and see how others answer. County planners have designed separate surveys for renters and landlords as part of research of ways to protect and preserve the existing rental housing stock.

After the survey results are compiled, planners will collaborate with local organizations and community stakeholders to consider solutions to the most significant barriers identified through the shared feedback.
