TIBURON, CA — Caltrans crews will continue repairs on a large sinkhole discovered in Tiburon late last month, which may require some daytime lane closures next week.

According to Caltrans, a storm on Jan. 25 caused the damage, which was discovered at Tiburon Boulevard and Stewart Drive. Officials said crews successfully stabilized the sinkhole to protect the road and installed a "k-rail," but recent storms postponed further work.

Beginning Monday, flaggers will intermittently deploy one-way traffic controls during working hours to keep workers safe as they repair the sinkhole and culvert. If the weather cooperates, Caltrans expects the work will be wrapped up within a couple of weeks.
