SMART Trains Delayed Systemwide By Marin Flooding

Flooding in Marin County was prompting delays systemwide.

MARIN AND SONOMA COUNTIES, CA — Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit reported delays Tuesday morning because of flooded conditions throughout the area.

As of 10 a.m., SMART reported that passengers can expect up to 20-minute delays Tuesday.

A coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday for parts of the Bay Area, including coastal North Bay and North Bay interior valleys.

"Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected," the National Weather Service said. "The combination of high tidal cycles, onshore winds, and heavy runoff will likely lead to coastal flooding in locations prone to tidal flooding. This potential may persist into this weekend during high tide cycles, especially during each morning`s high tide."
