Victim ID'd in Deadly Mill Valley Crash

Victim was only 24-years-old.

The Marin County coroner’s office has identified the victim of a solo vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 Saturday as 24-year-old Darryl Michael Blackman II of Vallejo.

Blackman was driving a 2013 Chrysler 2000 north on Highway 101 in the Strawberry area of unincorporated Mill Valley around 4:30 a.m.

The car left the highway between the Seminary Drive exit and the state Highway 1 exit and struck a wood and metal guardrail near the right shoulder, the California Highway Patrol said.

The Chrysler overturned and landed on its roof and also struck a light pole and chain link fence, the CHP said.

Blackman was pronounced dead at the scene.
