WEATHER ALERT: Lots of Heavy Rain to Continue in San Rafael

National Weather Service officials are predicting a wet Christmas week here in the North Bay.

Today will likely see rain in the morning, followed by rain in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 50s and south winds will reach 10 to 15 miles per hour, becoming southwest winds reaching around 20 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight will see rain, with heavy rain at times. Lows will be in the mid 50s and west winds will reach around 20 mph.

Tuesday will likely see showers. Highs will be in the lower 60s and west winds will reach 15 to 20 mph.

• Today: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 58. South southwest wind 13 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Tonight: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 54. Breezy, with a west wind around 23 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Tuesday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 60. West wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Northwest wind 18 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Northwest wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
