MARINA DEL REY, CA — Three people were in custody Tuesday morning after a series of early-morning break-ins that saw at least seven Westside businesses burglarized, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Five businesses in the Marina Center in Marina del Rey were broken into early Tuesday morning: L&L Hawaiian, Rubio's, Nick the Greek, Juice Crafters and Starbucks. Surveillance video provided to KCAL shows a robber smashing through the glass front door of Nick the Greek and heading straight to the cash register. The front windows and/or doors of the other businesses were similarly smashed.

Ulta Beauty was also burglarized. Police responded at 1:20 a.m. to reports of a smashed window at the store, located in an adjacent plaza off Lincoln Boulevard, police said.

About 2.5 miles away in Venice Beach, a burglar robbed Venice Market. Neighbor Paul Markham told KCAL he saw the burglar break into the store before tackling him after he jumped out a window.

"He knew exactly what he was doing," Markham said. "There was merchandise all over rate place and he went straight for the cash drawer."
