Back To School: 2023-24 Santa Monica School Year Calendar

SANTA MONICA, CA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Santa Monica with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.

The first day of school for most students in schools in Santa Monica is Aug. 24.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District:

• First Day: Aug. 24
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22—24
• Winter Break: Dec. 25—Jan. 5
• Spring Break: March 25—April 5
• Last Day: June 12

Additional dates to keep in mind:

• Labor Day: Sept. 4
• Veterans Day: Nov. 10
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan. 15
• Presidents' Day: Feb. 19
• Cesar E. Chavez Day: April 1
• Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day: April 24
