Birdie G's Launches $5 - $15 Happy Hour Specials In Santa Monica

The Michigan Avenue restaurant's new "Early Birdie's Happy Hour" runs daily from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

SANTA MONICA, CA — Birdie G's restaurant in Santa Monica has launched a new “Early Birdie’s Happy Hour”—with $5 to $15 snacks and cocktails.

Plus, also added to the happy hour menu are such new dishes as Vernors-baked ham with pickled melon ($14) and the whipped avocado with fried matzo (a Jewish spin on guac & chips for $12).

The specials, offered at "The Bird's Nest" (aka, the bar/lounge) and curated by Chef/Partner Jeremy Fox and Chef de Cuisine Matthew Schaler, run daily from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Michigan Avenue eatery.

Also on the new menu are kippered sable terrine with crispy potato waffles ($14), lavender almonds ($5) and three kinds of fries (Reuben, Caesar and an aioli version, from $7 to $12).

For larger appetites, there is the Half Fried Pickle Chick ($34) and the debut of the Kishka Burger ($25) — a quarter-pounder with seared blood sausage, Hook’s Swiss, house-pickled cornichons, red onion and persimmon “comeback sauce” on a sesame pretzel bun.

For cocktails, bar manager Stephanie Reading has crafted a "Chamomile Lavender Lemonade Mocktail" for $4, $12 seasonal cocktails, including the "Staycation Summer" with lime, kumquat, strawberry brandy and tequila, plus $6 craft beer. Sommelier Kobi Tsesarsky has assembled a variety of $12 glasses of wine.
