It’s going to be twice as nice in December as The Little Lion Foundation holds two holiday fundraising and adoption events with “Whiskers In Wonderland” at Boathouse on the Bay on Dec. 5 and “Home For The Pawlidays” at The Hangar at Long Beach Exchange on Dec. 11.

Pets have also suffered throughout the pandemic and The Little Lion Foundation continues working to recuse, save and maintain their focus on kittens under 8 weeks of age — becoming Long Beach’s first-ever and now preeminent kitten nursery. The foundation is calling for assistance from donors and supporters to help purchase and provide food and supplies, in addition to supporting these two December holiday fundraising and adoption events:

- Whiskers In Wonderland – This volunteer appreciation and fundraiser event will feature a variety of exciting silent auction items, hors d’oeuvres and bar tickets. All the funds generated go directly to saving more kitties. Tickets are $65 each and can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/o/the-little-lion-foundation-17388093561. Whiskers In Wonderland will be held at Boathouse on the Bay, 190 N. Marina Drive, Long Beach, 90803, Sunday, Dec. 5 from 4-6 p.m.

- Home For The Pawlidays – Join the second annual pet adoption and craft fair with more than 100 adoptable animals, along with vendors, food and holidays photos. Councilwoman Stacy Mungo, District 5, City of Long Beach, and the Long Beach Exchange present this free family event. Home For The Pawlidays will be held at The Hangar at Long Beach Exchange at 4150 McGowen Street, Long Beach, 90808, on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We are grateful for all of the support that we receive throughout the year and now hope these two December fundraising and adoption events will result in an abundance of holiday cheer,” said Claudia Otis, founder and owner of The Little Lion Foundation. “Our kitten fur babies are precious and they don’t have the capabilities to survive on their own. We’re fortunate to have a team of volunteers that have a passion for the safety and well-being of every little lion in our care.”

Founded in 2016 in Long Beach, Calif., The Little Lion Foundation works toward making the world a better place for neonatal and underaged kittens by stopping the needless euthanasia of kittens under 8 weeks of age in the shelter system. The Little Lion Foundation is the very first rescue in Long Beach to point its main focus on these innocent, fragile beings. They are an all-volunteer based team specializing in neonatal, orphaned and special needs kittens, as well as trauma cases and pride themselves in saving the ones left discarded...from blind to physical disabilities and deformities. They provide each kitten with vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, FIV/FELV test, deworming, regular flea medication and any other medical needs. The Little Lion Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization with 100 percent of donations going directly toward the care of the kitties.
